LIFT provides a highly “efficient” workout protocol—... read more time is maximized by increasing intensity to produce great results in half the time. Their 30-minute model uses shorter rest periods to tax the muscular and cardiovascular system simultaneously. By doing so, you are able to do more quality reps in 30 mins than someone would be able to do on their own in a full hour. And, when it comes to strength training, quality is always better than quantity, which they focus on.

Finally, I can honestly say that I owe my dramatically improved form when lifting weights to the crew at LIFT. I hear Pete's voice in my head whenever I lift on my own--which means I maintain good form and avoid injury even when I'm not working out with them. Pete, Josh, Chad, and the rest of the LIFT team set such a high bar, I honestly don't know what I'll do when I finally leave Chicago and have to find another personal trainer!

I’ve been to many... read more gyms and workout classes around the city (like a LOT)—they really know their stuff at Lift. Recently, Pete has been helping me work through a shoulder injury. I have been able to safely push myself and have made huge improvements in my strength and range of motion (I could barely lift my arms above my head when we started). In... read more all seriousness, after 5 months of 1:1 sessions multiple times a week, I can confidently say that Abby embodies everything I could want in a trainer. * Abby worked with MY body. She is an educated professional who actively listened to me when I told her the issues I'd been having with tightness in my back and a stiff knee for years. She took the time to understand what was going on with me, and thoughtfully introduced exercises to address and correct my problems. She never forgot about it, never dismissed my previous efforts to help myself, (stretching, physical therapy, yoga, massage therapy, etc.), and continually tweaks my form or variations to make sure we're improving my body. *Abby is attentive! She never looks at her phone, chats with coworkers, or lets me slack through a movement. Even though I imagine it gets repetitive to remind me to tighten my core or drive through my heels, she's always making sure I'm getting the best workout I can in each session. *Abby is humble and hilarious. She is SO fit and awesome which could be intimidating, but I feel completely comfortable huffing through movements with her. She makes me feel like she wants me to succeed and progress as much as I do, which just creates an awesome and positive atmosphere. She encourages my goals and progress, which in turn helps me push through tough movements. She's always energied and ready to go in the mornings, and as an added benefit consistently has me laughing at her silly sayings. If you work with her, you'll soon be preferring to Thursday as "Friday Jr." *Abby produces results! Working with her not only am I getting stronger, but she's helped me incorporate lifestyle changes in a sustainable and encouraging way. Everyone at Lift is extremely smart, knowledgeable about kinesiology and exercise science, and strikes a good balance between pushing you hard and knowing when to dial it back to reinforce form and/or add accessory or rehab work.
